Storyline

A young Peruvian bear with a passion for all things British travels to London in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone at Paddington Station, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined – until he meets the kind Brown family, who read the label around his neck (‘Please look after this bear. Thank you.’) and offers him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist.

These days, family movies try as hard as they can to appeal to the kiddos and their parents; maybe executives know how excruciating it can be to sit through a particularly painful foray into baby-talk and recycled jokes. Though it isn’t my personal favorite genre, it is undeniable that family films please more routinely than any other category in film. So much emphasis is put onto each project that it’s rare to find a stinker among the handful.
